This morning I had my 31 week doctor's appointment. I didn't get to see her 2 weeks ago because she was delivering 3 babies that afternoon so I only saw my nurse. This week we finally got to go over the results from my last ultrasound which was Thanksgiving week lol. Back then he was 2.5 lbs and in the 57th percentile. She said everything looked great except he had a "big head". Oh joy! Perhaps I should start re-thinking how long I intend to hold off on the epidural. She said, "I knew you would be excited to hear that." Cruel doctors lol.
The results from my gestational diabetes test & anemia test were great, and I was measuring exactly 31 weeks according to fundal height.
Blood pressure's looking good too but she wants to go ahead and start my weekly appointments with NSTs (non-stress tests) next week. She says it's probably overkill since my meds are keeping everything in check but she'd rather be 100% certain that little Ethan is healthy than take a chance.
I can't believe I'm now on weekly appointments! It is becoming so real. Next week I have another ultrasound to check on his latest progress. I'm excited to see how much he's grown in the last month.

Today Drew, Auntie Courtney & I got an early start and headed to The Inside Story to go have my 4D ultrasound. I was blown away by how amazing technology is. It was awesome seeing Baby Ethan squirming around live in 4D! He is absolutely precious. For $99 I got 11 printed pictures, a cd with 26 photos, & a 20 minute dvd of the session. Quite the bargain for Ethan's first photo shoot. LOL. The people there were really nice and the facility was cozy too. I liked the fact that they had multiple monitors & a big flat-screen so you could get a good view.
If you'd like to view more 3D photos of our little one click here.
Or you can see all of his photos from the very beginning up 'til now in a slideshow by clicking here.

Today I got a call from the ultrasound tech saying that the radiologist going over my scans from yesterday wanted to see an axial spine view since I was a repeat customer, so I needed to come back in. They were able to squeeze me in after work today. He was such a good little boy today compared to yesterday. She was able to get a view of everything she had difficulty with yesterday within just a few minutes. Ethan was just kicked back relaxing. I got to see him sucking his thumb- Too cute! She gave me one picture where he had just taken his thumb out of his mouth and his lips are still pushed out. I call it his monkey face- LOL. Perhaps you can see it too!

Due to Ethan not fully cooperating during the measurement portions of my last ultrasound and my hypertension I got to go in for another ultrasound today. He wasn't exactly cooperating today either, but I think the tech was finally able to get all the measurements she needed. Unfortunately, the photos weren't that great. On a side note, I seem to have really popped this week.
26 week Doctor's Visit
Today was the dreaded gestational diabetes test. Luckily I got the Fruit Punch drink, so it wasn't too horrible, just super sugary. I should know something by Thursday. Let's pray that I don't have diabetes.
My blood pressure is looking perfect, so that's a big plus. Even still she wants me to have once a month ultrasounds from here on out to make sure the baby is growing at the right rate, so I have another ultrasound scheduled for this Thursday at 3. I can't complain though because I love seeing my little boy! I will be seeing him in 3D the day before Thanksgiving too!
After my appointment, I went over to the hospital and finished all my registration paperwork. I got tons of stuff to read over and my bag packing list. Eeeeek!!! I can't believe I'm almost in my last trimester. 14 more weeks til my due date.

Doctor's Visit
Today I had my 22 week appointment. Dr. Richter said everything on the ultrasound from last week looked good, and Ethan is measuring just as he should. I go back in 4 weeks for my glucose screen. Eww! I'm so not looking forward to drinking that gunk. Then after that I start my every 2 week appointments. I can't believe I'm almost to that point already. I guess time flies when you're having fun.

Today Drew, YaYa & I went to get my 2o week Level-2 ultrasound. I was actually 21 weeks because I had a holiday from work today, so I decided to not take time off for work and just wait a week. I mean there was no big rush since we already knew it was a boy. This ultrasound took a really long time because they were measuring all sorts of things. We got to spend about an hour looking at him, and got lots of pictures too! He was such a good boy during the exam and stayed still when she was trying to measure for the most part, but he also did his fair share of wiggling around too. YaYa swears he waved to her at one point. The funniest part was when he all of a sudden kicked one of his legs up high in the air by his head. We all started laughing. Next Monday I go to my doctor and she will go over all the findings with me, but from what I could tell everything looked great!
After our busy morning, I went shopping at the mall with YaYa. She bought Ethan a few more things, and I picked up a baby book. Then we had lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Ethan got really jumpy after our red velvet cheesecake. Can we say sugar high? Once I got home, Drew & I drove out to USA Baby and put some more money down on the crib. Only $250 left 'til we get to bring the crib & mattress home. Then the nursery will be complete minus a lamp and the baby of course. :) All in all, it was a very productive day. Now I'm exhausted!

I went in this afternoon for my monthly check-up. Everything is looking great! Both Ethan & I are progressing as we should. Heartbeat- 152 bpm. Did blood work to test for neural tube defects. Get the results at my next visit on Oct. 19th. I also get to set up my Level 2 anatomy ultrasound for 2 weeks from now. That's when they'll be looking at everything in detail and taking measurements of all the baby parts.
On another note, this past weekend we painted the nursery. It looks amazing. I can't wait 'til we spring the crib out of layaway, and then everything will be done! I know it's still early but I like to plan and get things done ahead of schedule. No use waiting 'til February. Photos to come later after the room is complete. :)

Today we went back to the Center for Medical Genetics for our gender confirmation ultrasound. It was a very quick ultrasound very early in the morning. Both the Jack or Jill test and the ultrasound said boy. We are so excited.! We've decided to name Tic Tac Ethan Gregory McNamee. He was very calm today and didn't really want to let us see him doing much more than sleeping. Once again he had the hiccups and a fist up by his face. A future boxer maybe?

Doctor's Appointment
Today I had another visit with Dr. Richter. Everything is going perfectly so far. We were even able to pick up the baby's heart rate with the doppler. She said she could even hear him wiggling around.
Screening Results
Today we got the results of our First Trimester Screening Test. Everything looks wonderful! We couldn't be more happy.

Today was a big day for us. We had our appointment at the Center for Medical Genetics for our first trimester screening. This test involved an ultrasound where they looked at the babies neck and nasal bone looking for characteristics of Down's syndrome as well as blood work that screened for Trisomies 18 & 21 as well as cystic fibrosis. The ultrasound part was pretty fun because it was long and thorough. We got to see Tic Tac bouncing up and down with hiccups and even trying to put a fist in his mouth. The baby is starting to take shape & is 6.58 cm long.
We met with the genetic counselor after the ultrasound, and she told us that the baby looked really good. It would be a week before we were able to get the results of the blood work back though.
They also offered us a free Jack or Jill gender determination test, so of course we took it. We'll know in a week the sex of our child, hopefully. :)

Today I went in to see Dr. Richter for my well-woman exam & to take care of all my blood work. She tried to pick up the baby's heartbeat using the doppler, but she said he was still too tiny to hear it. She did another quick ultrasound instead. I was pretty happy because it meant I got to see Tic Tac again. I was measuring right at 10 weeks 2 days.
Pregnancy Woes
Just like every other pregnant woman I've had my share of issues. I am constantly tired. I am radiating heat like a furnace, and my prenatal pills are making me sick. Yuck!
Did I mention I can't bare to go outside during this heat wave we're having because every time I do I feel nauseated? Oh and the smell of meatballs & grilled chicken breasts grosses me out too.
Aah, the joys of being pregnant.

Today we went to see Dr. Richter-Werning for my first ob appointment. We got to catch a glimpse of our teeny tiny baby via ultrasound. The baby is the size of a Tic Tac, only 1.72 cm, so that's what we're calling it for now. I'm measuring right at 8 weeks 1 day. She also let us hear the heartbeat which was at 168 bpm. Quite fast for such a tiny little heart.
